Chris Benham is a Partner in the 51ยายื Planning team, with a focus on mixed use development in London. Chris has a wealth of experience in securing permission and delivering complex urban developments. Chris has advised across a range of sectors including residential and commercial, but his specialism is in the living sectors, namely co-living, build to rent, hotels, care and purpose-built student accommodation.
Chris leads project teams, providing the strategic planning advice and directing the preparation of the planning submission. He leads negotiations with the planning authority and other stakeholders to secure support for the proposed development. He is regarded by his clients as technically excellent, and commercially astute.
Chris has been expert witness at public inquiry and appeared at numerous local plan enquiries.
